The Frankfurt Motor Show has been well attended and the electric concepts at the venue have been charming motoring enthusiasts like never before. Merc’s new revelation seems to be attracting fans by the thousands ever since the concept was unwrapped at the podium.

Mercedes-Benz brought to the show their Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus hybrid boasting a range of up to 600 km (373 miles) in combined mode. The Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus is a plug-in hybrid sporting a 100 kW (136 PS / 134 hp) electric motor that pumps in a continuous output of 70 kW (95 PS / 94 hp).

From what we see, the concept car boasts an on-board engine – a 50 kW (68 PS / 67 hp) petrol unit – that charges the battery at low speeds. The engine has the capability to come in and play at high speeds so as to drive the front wheels together with the electric motor.

The carmaker has also thrown in a host of new features – the most significant among them being the technology called Collision Prevention Assist.

Merc has, in fact, revealed the newly developed automatic transmission with this concept. We get to learn that the Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus, in combined driving, puts to play a CO2 quotient of just 32 g/km and a range of up to 600 km (373 miles).

Meanwhile, the all-electric emission free mode range measures up to 100 km (62 miles). That we think is cool, Merc.
