Rimac Automobili Concept

As you all know we have been getting exciting bits of information about the Rimac Automobili Concept One car since the past two weeks now. We have finally got a glimpse at one of the efficient plug-in super cars built by the company. Shutterbugs present at the Ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show were able to produce some excellent shots of this electric vehicle.

The car exudes elegance and style in its sleek stretched design, beaming in red. The side of the car gets a translucent black patch, though we thought the side mirrors looked a tad on the funny side.

The power for the Concept One is derived from a huge 92-kWh lithium phosphate battery pack. This is the biggest battery yet for any passenger car, if you don’t take into account the Kolibri pack in the DMB-converted Audi A2.

Power will be supplied to four individual motors associated for each wheel. The 250 kW liquid-cooled motors with individual controllers and reduction gears procure up to 1088 horsepower and 2800 NM (2803 lb-ft) of torque.

The Concept One, weighing 1650-kg (3638-lb), is capable of racing to 60 mph from zero in 2.8 seconds. The top speed has been recorded at 305km/h(190mph) and the car has a range of 600 kilometers (373 miles).

Another highlight of the plug-in concept is that it can be charged within 20 minutes with sufficient energy supply. The interior is outfitted similar to what we saw in the Pininfarina and Vilner. The company plans to market only 88 limited units of the vehicle. This will happen in by 2013. In case you won’t be surprised, let’s also tell you two units have already been sold
